An underpinning of Joy.

I released my first Ember 'n Echo podcast this week. Adding my voice to the fray of all those who already put thoughts and ideas into the ethers for us to consume and ponder.
It has been an opportunity for learning. That is undeniable. I am proud of myself though. Following through on the notion that I have something to share, a point of view that might be helpful to another person. I really had to wrestle and overcome my internal security guard who likes to keep me behind the wall, safe and contained and perhaps just insecure enough to not step out of line and into the light. For those who might know me in real time, this might come as a surprise. I'm generally fairly confident in my ability to show up for myself and others in known spaces. This unknown space of "out there" that comes with a whole globe full of people and perspectives is a little more overwhelming. My mantra in setting all this up has been "your remix is valuable". And so it is.
As I've spent time setting up Ember 'n Echo, I've had to evaluate what it is that I'm bringing into the world in the field of service. Why would people trust me to come and work together? What is it that I have to offer? What makes me special?
The answer is two fold: I have done, and continue to, do the work. My inner curiosity is vast for my knowledge of Self, self and others. I love to seek to understand the many layers that make up a perspective and how this translates into each person's point of view. I am curious across mind, body and spirit, unsatisfied with a singular lens.
The second component I realized, is my whole career has been founded in the interest of helping people feel better. Exercise Physiology to feel better physically (I worked in Occupational Rehab and preventative health), Counselling to feel better emotionally (I am a qualified Counsellor in Australia) and Reiki & Yoga to feel better energetically (I'm currently a Reiki level II practitioner and yoga teacher and am studying my Karuna Ki Reiki Masters and Yin Yoga certification). When I took a moment to reflect on this, it seemed to clear! My MO is to help people to return to their joy.
To be clear, I'm referring to joy as a foundation emotion. The quiet hum beneath everything — not the absence of hardship, but the steady pulse that reminds you life is still worth showing up for. That's the remembering, the returning to, the reflecting back I bring forth to my sessions with people. That's the "why "that keeps me going, what I know to be possible and true for each of us.
With this, I am excited. I am excited to be present in real time with people at the Richmond Road, Calgary space starting July 7, 2026. I love, LoVe, LOVE my distance reiki sessions and am looking to add some home visits for post partum Mummas. I truly stand by my belief that when we take time to look after ourselves (or someone makes the loving suggestion and provides you with time with me ;) the echos are immeasurable.
If you're not ready to jump into the full energy of a Reiki session or are just a bit curious join me whilst I guide you through a somatic 'stretch' and into a visualization - the next one is the July 16, 2026 meditation at 9pm MST. Once you RSVP you'll be emailed a link.
Calmly stoked to see you there!
Hayley
